SPECIALIZED GUIDE: NATURE INTERPRETATION

This program was developed by the Professional Association of Wilderness Guides and Instructors (PAWGI), and it is designed for professionals wishing to gain specialization in nature interpretation.

Certified Specialized Guides (CSG) may organize and conduct day and multi-day land expeditions in any area suitable for their skill and experience level, excluding activities involving travel on glaciers or permanent snow, climbing, or the use of hands and body for balance. They may also conduct expeditions as per their specialization, as well as teach courses to the public in their area of specialization.

• 19 year or older
Certified Wilderness Guide certification
• Wilderness First Aid Certification

  Certification is achieved upon successful completion of the course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The program is conducted over the course of 1 week and is designed to teach the candidate region-specific nature interpretation skills.

All required materials are provided in an electronic format. As a result, the purchase of actual text books is not required.   Courses are scheduled on a regular basis throughout Canada.
